Band of the Month

Wrecking Ball

The sound of tennessee and texas. a real band for real honky tonkers, wrecking ball is fast becoming the most sought after rock-country band in the UK. created in honour of some great nights spent in honky tonks in nashville tennessee and texas, we simply wanted everyone to have the fun we’ve had. right down to the ‘haller and swaller’, baseball caps, boots and jeans and the famous nashville ‘tip bucket’, we are a southern USA experience that are filling the void for a growing younger audience hungry for artists like zac brown band, eric church, keith urban, luke bryan, jake owen and other mainline USA acts. labels aside, the fact is that this it is just great music, country rock rich in classic rock sensibilities, story-telling lyrics and stomping rhythms that appeal to the wider UK audience.
wrecking ball have just completed their first summer on the festival circuit and what a summer it was. festival organisers have been keen to add something really different into their lineup that both capitalises on the growing popularity of country music, yet is also easily able to “cross over” to a wide and diverse audience. In 2017 wrecking ball appeared in opening supporting and headline slots in festivals across the south west, including being the opening act for the famous Sheppy’s Cider at their SheppyFest 2017, which this year was headlined by the Hoosiers. Other festivals in 2017 included headline billing at Oakfest 2017, as well as hewishstock, Hobphin Festival and Rimpfest 2017.
